Dawn Emerson is coming from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada especially to teach this workshop.

Each day we will look at a different "surface level" of drawing with pastel, from the substrate UP and DOWN.
Day 1 will focus on creating different kinds of "base layers" that offer wonderful possibilities for drawing into and on top of.
Day 2 will focus on different approaches by adding to the base layer using pastel and mixed media.
Day 3 will explore ways to continue the process by adding and subtracting mixed media and drawing elements.
The first day will include a 1-hour demonstration using mixed media and pastel, and very short demos will occur throughout the workshop. At the end of each day there will be a sharing of that day's discoveries. This workshop is designed to inspire you to play, to take risks, and to explore new approaches to drawing and painting with pastel and mixed media.
Minimum: 10 students. Maximum: 18 students
Fee: $395 (Associates and Tucson Pastel Society Members $345)
